Verona Europe’s BMX capital for the year 2024

In 2024 the UEC BMX Championships will take place in Verona on the Team BMX Verona track, which will become the protagonist of the international BMX scene. Three days of races in which raiders from all over Europe will compete on one of the most beautiful tracks in Europe, pride and joy of the city of Verona and of the Veneto Region.

During the championships it will be possible to camp, eat and park on site as well as enjoy various recreational activities in the splendid setting of the city of Verona, Italy, rich in culture and history.

The AGSM AIM BMX Olympic Arena Verona has a combined SX and Challenge track which incorporates an 8-meter SX starting ramp for the Championships classes (Elite/Under23/Junior, both male and female) and a 5-meter starting ramp for the Challenge classes (up to 16 years of age). The SX track is approximately 420 meters long, while the regular track is approximately 380 meters.

Secure a comfortable space in the TEAM AREA for your team! A space for the drivers/team tents in a large grassy area near the staging area. The area can contain 150 tents measuring 3×6 m. You can purchase one or more team spaces directly from here. We also offer the possibility of renting the material to set up your space.

Book your space in our dedicated campsite

You can park your camper near the BMX track. The pitches are equipped with water and drainage facilities – but they do not have electricity meters. The standard dimensions of the pitches are 9×5 m. Owners of large camper vans can reserve two pitches to ensure a proper use of the spaces.

How to get to the AGSM AIM BMX Olympic Arena

BY CAR

Travelling along the A4 motorway (Milan-Venice), take the Brennero motorway (A22) towards “Brennero” then exit at “Verona Nord“. Proceed on the SS12 towards Verona centre, take the exit marked “Stadio” and follow signs for “Parcheggio B”.

BY PLANE

Verona Airport “Valerio Catullo” – 10 km from the track. Take the shuttle to Verona Porta Nuova railway station or a taxi. Follow the directions described in “by car” to reach the track.

what to do in Verona

DISCOVER VERONA FROM ITS RIVER
Embark from Bottagisio, where you will be served the first aperitif with a platter of mixed cheese. After about an hour of navigation we will stop in the middle of the river to admire the wonderful arches of the Scaligero Bridge and enjoy a second aperitif. The trip will end at the eighteen-century River Customs in the Filippini area, where you will be served a third round of appetizers to taste.

GARDEN PARK SIGURTÀ
Leave in the morning from the BMX Olympic Arena track to Valeggio on a private coach. Arrive at Valeggio sul Mincio and enter the Garden, where endless green spaces unfold along astonishing seasonal blooms such as the “Boulevard of Thirty Thousand Roses”, a kilometer-long path lined with rose bushes, which peaks in splendor in the month of May. Right above it you will notice the imposing Scaligero Castle: it stands outside the Park but appears to be inside it thanks to a deceiving optical effect. Enjoy the 18 lakes and ponds, all artfully and beautifully located – in summer they come alive with hundreds of water lilies, lotus flowers, water hibiscus and papyrus. With its panoramic tree-lined paths, its beautiful lawns and enchanting views, this green treasure was awarded “Italy’s Most Beautiful Park” in 2013 and “Second Most Beautiful Park in Europe” in 2015. Opened in the summer of 2011, the Maze is made up of 1500 yew trees which create a path that winds its way over an area of 2,500 square meters. In the center of the Maze stands a tower inspired by the one in the Bois the Boulogne park in Paris; from here you can admire the geometries of the area and enjoy a fantastic view of the Water Gardens and the Great Oak – a 400-year-old oak tree and one of the oldest trees in the park. Other palces of interest are the ”Castelletto”, the Horizontal Sundial, the Stone of Youth and the Hermitage. The Garden can be explored on foot, on electric golf carts, sightseeing trains or by bycicle. Catch the return coach in the early afternoon.

CITY TOUR OF VERONA
Leave in the morning from the BMX Olympic Arena track to the city center on a private coach. Walk around the historical centre of Verona to enjoy the monuments and squares of the city. The itinerary starts from the central Piazza Bra, the perfect introduction to the four main historical eras of Verona, and will take you around the area inside the bend of the river Adige, where the city was originally founded in the 1st century BC. The main monument is the Roman amphitheater known as Arena. During the tour you will walk to one of the river bends where you can enjoy the view of the imposing Castelvecchio, the fortified residence of the Della Scala family (14th century) and follow the ancient route of the Roman decumanus maximum to the heart of the ancient city and its historic squares: Piazza Erbe, Piazza dei Signori and the smaller square with the Scaliger Arches. Verona is inevitably linked to the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet made immortal by Shakespeare’s verses. The tour will end right in the courtyard of Juliet’s “house”, with a previous stop at Romeo’s “house”.
